A few minutes north of the Gulf of Sagone, Cargèse cultivates a singularity rare in Corsica: the village was founded by Greek families who came to settle here several centuries ago, and this heritage can still be read today.
The two churches facing each other
This is the image that makes Cargèse famous: two churches face each other on either side of the village, the Greek church (of the Eastern rite) and the Latin church. A peaceful and unique cohabitation, to be discovered for their interiors as well as for the view they offer of the sea.
The port and the village
Below, the small port invites you to stroll and take a gourmet break with two restaurants, between fishing boats and terraces. The narrow streets of the village lend themselves to a quiet walk at the mild time of the day.
The beaches around
Cargèse also has beautiful beaches of light sand and turquoise water, such as Pero or Chiuni, among the most photogenic in the area. Enough to extend the visit with a swim.
